When I dial my ISP to connect to the Internet,
the volume of the dial tone is very low. I have an
internal modem and hence it is all the more difficult
to hear. How can I boost the volume of the modem?
Follow these steps to boost the volume
of the modem:
Right click on
"My computer" and select
"Properties" to bring up the "System
properties" dialog box.
Select the "Hardware" tab and click on the
"Device manager" button.
From the devices listed, expand "Modems" by
clicking on the "+" sign before it.
Under "Modems", right click on the modem
installed and select "Properties" to bring up
the "Modem properties" dialog box.
Here, select the "Modem" tab and move the
"speaker volume" slider to the extreme right
to boost it to the max.
Click on the "OK" button and close the dialog
boxes when you are done.
You will now be able to hear the dial tone clearly.
